Mission

The Ecuadorian Association of Nursing Schools and Faculties (ASEDEFE) directs, advises, and monitors the training of nursing professionals in Ecuador at the undergraduate and graduate levels using quality criteria, promoting the generation of knowledge and community involvement, contributing to the improvement of the quality of higher education, and working in national and international networks relevant to the country's development plans. 

We are committed to:

  1. Providing Support: Offering resources, training, and professional support to our members so they can provide high-quality, compassionate care to their patients.
  2. Defending Rights: Advocating for fair rights and working conditions for nursing professionals, ensuring a safe and equitable work environment.
  3. Fostering Education: Promoting continuing education and professional development so that our members remain at the forefront of advances in healthcare.
  4. Contributing to the Community: Actively participating in community initiatives and public health projects that improve the quality of life of the people and communities we serve.

ASEDEFE is an academic organization responsible for guiding and advising on the training of nursing professionals, based on the principles and standards established by the country's regulatory bodies.

PURPOSES:

  • To contribute to the full development of nursing professionals within the framework of the country's National Development Plan in the field of health.
  • To strengthen the training process for nursing professionals at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • To promote the development of social awareness in nursing training, so that they contribute to proposing alternative solutions to health and professional problems, based on the right to health, solidarity, and justice.

OBJECTIVES:

  • To guide and advise the relevant bodies on nursing education.
  • To participate actively and consistently in the formulation and implementation of policies, strategies, and professional training programs.
  • To promote the establishment of academic and research links between universities in order to optimize existing teaching resources.
  • Promote knowledge and experience in the development of academic and research projects.
  • Participate in government, trade union, and business organizations in regulatory processes and other activities that ensure the proper professional practice of nursing.
  • Establish strategic alliances and networks for the improvement of education and practicein nursing.
  • Promote the generation of knowledge for development within the context of the country's reality.
  • Contribute to the development of teaching skills among staff working in the association's member units in nursing.
