The Nursing program at the National University of Chimborazo trains competitive professionals in clinical practice, teaching, research, and administration, equipping them with scientific, technical, and ethical knowledge. They are capable of practicing their profession at varying levels of complexity, contributing to the resolution of the population's main health problems throughout the life cycle.

The Nursing program at the National University of Chimborazo was established on July 23, 1997, in response to the need for training in this field of knowledge in central Peru. Academic activities began on October 20 of that same year, and in 1998, it was officially recognized by the University Council as the School of Nursing within the Faculty of Physical Culture and Health Sciences. In 2018, it received accreditation from the Council for Evaluation, Accreditation, and Quality Assurance of Higher Education (CEAACES). It currently holds accreditation from CACES and is part of the programs offered by the Faculty of Health Sciences.
